Privacy Policy
Effective Date: August 27, 2025
Last Updated: December, 25, 2025
Welcome to the Bente Privacy Policy. At Flovara Inc. (“Bente,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we believe that real-world connection is the antidote to digital isolation. Whether you are looking for a date, a new friend, or a professional collaborator, we are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us to make those connections happen.
This Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you use the Bente mobile application (the “App”), our website at getbente.com (the “Site”), and our related services.
This Policy applies to all users located in the United States.
By using Bente, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Policy.
If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The type of information we collect depends on how you interact with the App. Because Bente is a location-contingent social utility designed to optimize matches based on specific compatibility factors, certain information is required to use the service.
A. Information You Provide Directly
1. Registration & Account Information When you create an account, we collect:
-
Login Credentials: Phone number and/or email address.
-
Basic Details: Name, date of birth (to confirm you are 18+), and gender identity.
-
Stated Intent: Your primary reason for using Bente (e.g., Dating, Friendship, Networking).
2. Sensitive Profile Information (Required for Service) To optimize your profile and ensure our matching algorithms function correctly, we require you to provide certain "Sensitive Personal Information." Submission of this data is mandatory to use the Bente service. By providing this data, you explicitly consent to our processing of it for matching purposes:
-
Sexual Orientation & Preferences
-
Religious Beliefs
-
Political Affiliation
-
Lifestyle Habits: (e.g., Smoking, Drinking, Diet, Sleep Habits).
3. Verification Information & Biometric Data To ensure safety and prevent fraud, we require account verification. We partner with a third-party vendor, Persona, to conduct these checks. We collect a photo of your government-issued ID and a selfie.
-
Biometric Information: Persona uses facial recognition technology to analyze your facial geometry (a "Biometric Identifier") by comparing your selfie to your ID. We collect and use this biometric data solely for identity verification and fraud prevention.
-
No Sale of Biometric Data: We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from your biometric data. We share this data only with Persona as our data processor.
B. Information We Collect Automatically
1. Precise Geolocation (Hotspots) Bente is a location-first experience. We collect your precise GPS coordinates (latitude/longitude) only when you enable location services to:
-
Check you into a "Hotspot" or "Hotzone."
-
Show you other users currently checked into the same venue.
-
Medical Safe Zones: We generally do not collect precise location data within 1,850 feet of healthcare facilities. Exception: If you voluntarily initiate a Check-In at a commercial venue located within a safe zone, we will process your location strictly to verify your presence for that specific session. This data is automatically permanently deleted from our servers within 2 hours.
2. Device & Usage Information
-
Device Data: IP address, unique device identifiers (advertising IDs), device model, and operating system.
-
Usage Logs: How long you stay at a Hotspot, which profiles you view, and your interactions with other users.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies We use cookies, pixels, and SDKs to recognize you and secure the App. For detailed information, please see our [Cookie Policy].
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use your data to operate the Bente platform and provide our services:
-
To Facilitate Check-Ins: Verifying your physical presence at a venue to unlock the "Discovery" feature.
-
To Optimize Matches: Using your sensitive profile data (Intent, Diet, Politics) to recommend the most compatible users nearby.
-
To Improve Our Services: Analyzing usage trends to identify popular Hotspots.
-
To Prevent Fraud: Using ID verification to ensure all users are real humans.
-
To Create Venue Analytics: Aggregating traffic data to help our Venue Partners understand their customer demographics (see Section 3).
3. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We respect your privacy. We do not sell your contact information (email, phone, name) to third parties. However, under 2026 state laws, certain sharing of data for analytics or advertising is defined as a "Sale."
A. Venue Partners
We provide participating venues with Aggregated Visitor Counts (e.g., "25 users checked in"). We do not share demographic breakdowns, personal identities, or specific attributes of individual guests. As this data is fully anonymized and cannot be linked to any individual, it does not constitute a "Sale" of personal information.
B. Service Providers
We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate:
-
Persona: For ID verification.
-
Square: For payment processing (we do not store full card numbers).
-
Cloud Hosting: (e.g., AWS/Google Cloud) for secure data storage.
C. Legal & Safety
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to: (i) comply with a legal process (court order, subpoena); (ii) protect the safety of any person; or (iii) address fraud, security, or technical issues.
